Jack-
here is another way to make the golf/hitting "translation" if you are interested in the potential for learning from comparison across similar skills.I know you have a feeling for this becuase of your understanding of your golf club drill/dmonstration.I think one of the main things golf has to offer is shedding light on the lower body/weight shift aspects which are not well seen on video, even computer aided motionanalyis.Even your thorough objective video analysis showed little that appeared conssistent in this regard while on the other thand, you found extremely important hings like chp, bht, tht, stable axis.
Think of the golf swing not ONLY as having a longer swing radius (high load),but also as having the body rotated very closed as compared to hitting. Even though the typical stance may be closed/parallel in both, the feet are more closed in golf and MUCH MUCH more importantly.the head "stays down".In hitting,on the other hand, the feet are more open and the head looks forward, moreso the more you belly-up and hit the middle in offering.
Happy Father's Day ! Thanks for your contributions.
