Re: Re: When to move up a player

My son played on all star travel teams until he was around 9 years ol. He was an above average player on these teams. But they played so much and put so much pressure on him he wanted to quit baseball. We talked him into not quitting and but him on a recreational team with kigs that were 1-2 years older than him so he was still pushed by these older kids. The team was not as competitive as teams he played on in the past but he continued to improve. He is now a very good 14 yo baseball player playing on a travel squad in his age group and loving every minute of it. For him playing up was the best thing we could have done for him.
