Your son has not perfected his "trigger" mechanism.

Where is the ball when he begins to move his front foot?

He needs to step when the pitcher lets go of the ball. (Try this in the cages when the ball comes out of the machine).

If he ever takes a swing it is way late. We practice with him 4-5 times a week and take him to batting cages as well. He says he feels he can't move when he is at the plate. How can we help him to relax and enjoy the game once again? It looks like he may choose soccer next year.
