Hi Jack.
I'm trying hard to digest your post.
Manny hits a ball away,for a home run, keeping his hands inside the baseball.
The clip of the Giant's player, also hitting a home run , also away, much more extended though.
My belief is it has much to do with pitch location.

You said a wider hand path creates more bat speed in particular instances.Are you saying though, that with a wider CHP, the rear elbow has to move away from the body more or, not?
In my mind, it has to right?
