Weight Distribution

I notice that this site says to have your weight balanced at the stance and then your weight is shifted more towards the back foot at stride, then back to the balance position at contact. I was just wondering if you lose any power if your stance starts with your weight more shifted to the back foot before stride or if it is a personal preference where the weight is at pre-stride. Thanks
