ball marks on bat

Posted by: JohnP (jbp8653@aol.com) on Tue Jun 10 20:25:04 2008

I have what might be a dumb question so excuse me if it is. I cleaned my softball bat last Friday before Saturdays practice. Went to practice and hit the ball well. I hold the label of the bat straight up as I prepare to swing. I noticed after practice that all the ball marks from contact where on the back side of the bat. How can this be? It would mean I am rotating the label from straight up to straight down in my swing. I know you rotate your wrists but this seems unreal. I am a right handed hitter and I usually hit the ball between 2nd and 3rd base. Is this normal and if it is, what am I missing here? If it isn't, what am I doing wrong to cause such a thing? Thanks for your help!........John
