You know, I've thought about that very same thing. I am right-handed, but I hit left-handed. Actually, I used to switch-hit. I just seemed to hit the ball farther (not understanding why at the time), so I decided to stay in the lefty box when I hit.

I really can't offer you much insight into the reasons behind this, however. It may very well be that my lefty swing is just more mechanically sound. The leg thing, though, is something to think about, too!
