Hi John

Adair’s “Physics of Baseball” contains some good information but the swing model he presents will not solve a batter’s bat drag problem. His model does not recognize torque applied at the handle and a CHP only in the first stages of the swing. Just after initiation his model would have the batter’s hands extending the bat knob first at the pitcher and relying on a nonexistent “whip effect” to accelerate the bat to contact.
