Jack--?'s on Bat Speed
Hi Jack:
For the sake of clarity, we will assume that all swings are geared towards hitting inside pitches when practicing on the bag.
You said in your "Final Arc II" instructional booklet that, by itself, a good CHP should attain bat speeds of 40-50 mph.
Now, if ONLY BHT is added to the swing, what is the range (i.e., from what mph to what mph) can the batter hope to achieve? (I know the number will be higher than when using CHP, but what will the range be...70-75 mph?...please enlighten me).
What will be the advantage of adding THT (but not PLT) to the elements discussed thus far? Can a batter, for example, hope to have bat speeds that register between 80 and 85 mph?
Finally, when PLT is added to the equation, can the batter hope to hit speeds between 90-100+ mph?
Now, please answer the following (the batter is hitting a bag, and practicing on hitting inside pitches):
Adding BHT to CHP will give you between what mph and what mph on a bat speed radar?
Adding THT to BHT and CHP will give you between what mph and what mph on a bat speed radar?
Adding PLT to THT, BHT, and CHP will give you between what mph and what mph on a bat speed radar.
Please answer ASAP, as these answers will be an important diagnostic tool for assessing my current swing (i.e., seeing if I am "up to par" on my swing).
