too many strikes & pop ups

Hi All,
I bought your DVD last year & Drew & I have watched it many times & worked on the techniques on the bag. He plays in a 7-8 yr division w/ a 40mph machine. He is 50 in. tall & 73 lbs, about average. As a 7 year old last year, he hit 6-8 times about 180 feet, with many 150 ft blast. Top 3 long ball hitter out of 145 kids. Most everything was between short stop & 3rd base fence. But Drew batted 6-10th in games because of strike outs. I have video of him hitting last year. He basically uses a rotational swing as shown in example on this site. This year he is hitting lots of pop ups, fouls, strikes, & weak bloopers to 2nd base, not over their head. Hardly pulling anything to left as last year. It is just our 2nd week of practice this year & neither one of us want to do the strike out thing all season again. He seems to be out ahead of the pitches & I have not figured out how to get better timing. We get lots of linear advice which I tell him to forget. He loves to go hit & we may hit 100 on a sunday afternoon, plus in the cage during the week. Anyone in the southeast teaching rotational hitting? What else is a Dad to do?
Thanks for this site & your advice
Drew's Dad
