When I read your post I instantly think of two things, since I don't know your hitting style I will talk about both.

1. Where are you looking at the ball? What I mean is maybe you are looking at the top of the ball and therefore hitting where you see the ball. Make sure you are looking at the middle of the ball or lower than you do now.

2. Most likely you are starting in some what of a crouch, with knees bent. When you swing and at contact you have straighten your legs and/or body, thus causing you to hit on top of the ball. My son has developed lately a habbit some times when swinging he straighten his back leg stands more tall and hits the ball on top causing a weak grounder. We are working on loosing this habbit and he is driving the ball with solid line drives.
