Re: Conservation of Momentum
>>> It seems to me that you are an honorable person. I am sure you have the best of intentions and I hope that you have helped hitters improve. <<<
Dr.Yeager
I have been addressed in a condescending manner before but your superior attitude tops them all.
Let us take your points of concern one at a time. When you are satisfied regarding your first point, we can move on to the next. -- Below is part of my reply to Shawn that you appear to have taken such offense to.

“From your statement above, I would say we (Dr. Yeager included) are now in agreement. It appears we agree that the mechanics used to crack a whip do not represent mechanics used to swing a bat.”
Here is the statement from Shawn that led me to the above conclusion.
(Shawn)
>> I went back and read the article. He is talking about cracking a whip and not the swing.
How you crack a whip and how you swing follow the same principles of momentum transfer, but they don't work the exact same way. The entire body is used in a swing and only the arm basically in the cracking of the whip. <<<
From Shawn’s reading of your material, it certainly appears he believes you think that the mechanics used to crack a whip do not represent mechanics used to swing a bat. I agree with Shawn, they both may use the transfer of momentum principle, but the mechanics used to transfer the momentum are very different.
That is why Dr.Yeager I said it appeared we were all in agreement on the issue. I can not understand why you are so upset. Did you not state in your own post, “I have NEVER said that one should use the same mechanics to swing a bat that he or she uses to crack a bullwhip.” – I agree with you.
Therefore I repeat, “From your statement above, I would say we (Dr. Yeager included) are now in agreement. It appears we agree that the mechanics used to crack a whip do not represent mechanics used to swing a bat.”
