Re: Hitting the outside pitch

I think now may be a good time to bring the discussion back to what the board was designed to accomplish - "A frank and open-minded discussion of the baseball/softball swing." It seems clear to me that discussing personalities can make little advancement to our understanding of the swing.

Jack, I honestly don't know why hitting outside pitches are TABOO! It depends on the hitter. High school hitters, most of them, have a long swing, and they get jammed on inside pitches, others can't hit outside because the ball goes futher from your eyes and you can't tell if the ball will catch the plate. They just swing for pitches right down there.
Question Jack, I haven't mastered the Top Hand Torgue and Rotation thing yet, but so far I find it harder to swing fro outside pitches since my hips are already rotated toward the pitcher. I also don't know how to apply Top Hand Torque on outsiders beacuse my hands are traveling farther away from my body, and the "L" is more like a "_" (bigger angle more like 110 degrees). A little help? Or am I doing things right?
