Linear Pull while Rotation?

Posted by: WT () on Sun Dec 5 22:38:57 2004

Jack,

Frame #3(Swing Mechanics) shows what I am seeing when I study film.

Elliot is linear with the bat from Top of Rear Shoulder and Knob of Bat is "Pulled" for about 1 1/2' across to about the rotational centerline through the body( middle chest) before it takes on a rotational component; Frame #4-to contact.

I believe there is a linear component in this swing.

Would one agree? Or what am I seeing?

This is also a question for any and all....
Thank You
WT

PS - Additional MPEGS for study shows this:

Giambi(Slow Motion) MPEG is an easy one where all can see this linear component of the swing. Gonzalez #3 MPEG

State which MPEG, if one responds, for the ease of discussion. Thanks and HELP?

I do not know the owner of the website but have used it for an example to find a bunch of MPEGS of MLB swings; makes it easier.
