>>> Jack, I'm not ready to agree yet. I want to learn and understand your views and am trying to use the principals that I am familiar with to do this. I hope you will continue your feedback with me to help me see the light. OK....Thanks.....so maybe I should take a look at your findings....whats the cost? Also, have you delved into Dave Hudgins philosophy's? He is the big league hitting coach for the Oakland Athletics???? <<<

Hi Jeff

I think I can safely say that a few years back, all of us basically held the views you expressed. Although I taught linear transfer mechanics for 20 years, I felt my best hitters appeared to have different batting principles in their swings than I was teaching. At least, I had the common sense to just leave them alone.

The main reason some of us began questioning linear principles is because of what we saw while studying the best hitters’ swings frame-by-frame. We noted that what we saw was at odds with the linear batting principles we had been teaching.

Jeff, I would say that the best way for you to seek the truth is to follow the same route we did. With an open mind, study the best hitter’s swings frame-by frame and decide for yourself if what you see supports your present views or rotational principles we discuss on this site.

I have discussed batting theories with Dave Hudgins on his discussion board. He basically expressed the prevailing linear thought. In fact, one of the main reasons I developed Batspeed.com was that I felt that my post so contradicted his batting theories that it was not fair to continue posting findings from my study on his site.
