Re: front toe

Question: Is there a problem if they are bringing that lead foot all the around with the toe facing the pitching? What does that do to their hip drive?

Yes there is a BIG problem with this....once the front toe goes or is pointed the front hip goes with it....now as a hitter you loose a major aspect of the swing that you need to create the maximum RESISTANCE in the swing. Only, if the ball is on the inner half will you have a chance to hit the ball (with a pointed toe)with any athority and most likely that will just be a hard hit foul ball...keeping the front side thigh closed as long as possible is so very important. Only after the stride and once the ball has been contacted should that thigh and toe open....jeff
