I can not agree with you that pulling all pitches is good and I do not think that you can put a person into only the four categories that you have stated above. There is a thing called situational hitting that is by far more important then stating you must hit to only one area of the field. Defending a one field hitter, though not always completely effective, is a way of cutting down the average of the said player. I do agree that a person must be able to hit the ball to any field if the situation calls for it and that pulling the ball does increase the opportunity of hitting a homerun. I do also see players crowd the plate more now then ever so that they can turn on the outside pitch (which by the way is only a middle of theplate pitch if you stood off the plate). Eventually the players who stand on the plate will get hit more often and struck out more by a pitcher who is not afraid of throwing inside (4-6 inches inside the black). Just my opinion.
