Hi Mike

It would have been more technically correct if I had stated ‘ the increase in bat velocity’ is exponential. Acceleration itself is an exponential term. – You asked, “How can bat-head acceleration be exponential rather than linear in nature if forces applied are constant?” -- Consider the liftoff of the Challenger. The engine thrust remains constant. However, as one can see, the rocket lifts off slowly and its velocity increases exponentially.
