THT vs bow arch & flail

I am not familiar with a Flagellum exceept for the biological type which is complex.Is some kind of simple physical model being referred to y "Flagellum" ?

I would think a flail and steering wheel knob and double pendulum are just simplified/2 segment whips.

When you see a double pendulum animation,the hinge angle gets quite narrow as the distal/second segment accelerates,this would not work with the reaction time limits of hitting I would "guess"?

Interesting to watch. It would also be interesting (as you mentioned earlier) to see what effect adding a torque factor to the second pendulum would make.
