Yeah, but when you were telling kids to hit line drives with that downward swing, did you mention they had to hit the bottom of the ball in order to do so? "Stay above the ball," "Swing down," "pull the knob down to the ball," "barrel above the hands, ""Hit the top of the ball"...Typical Little League parent advice. Cues to combat the common youth uppercut, but advice that should never be taken literally. Maybe a certain percentage of MLBers are on 'roids, but 99% of them are going up BEFORE contact. Check the videotape. Give us an example of an mlber not going up before contact. One example of the barrel above the ball, 6 inches to a foot before contact. Happy hunting. We'll give you Ichiro.
