I have seen this cue work very well as a reminder for kids that are solid rotational hitters, but sometimes roll too early when they don't work the front elbow up enough.

I had this same problem when i was in little league
i did one drill that helped me correct it i would take batting practice while swinging with my my top hand open with the bat sitting inbetween my thumb and index finger that way his top hand palm has to stay and up
