Ichiro is not just linear; he has a style unto his self. It’s more of a fast pitch softball left-hander slap style.

While linear hitters move their body towards the pitcher and use a lot of hands, Ichiro often leans his body towards first base in order to get extension and clear his arms.

Works for him but I wouldn’t want my kids to watch.
