Re: Re: hips at launch

As you can tell I'm having trouble getting into a good launch position. This problem this time doesn't have to do with the arms and hands. It's my hips. When I do my inward turn/coil my hips turn in with my shoulders. So I can't get full rotation and turn on an inside pitch. All my hits this season have been up the middle or the opposite field, and I mean all, all 22 of them. I get jammed inside too. When I do try to clear , hips my whole swing goes all over the place, balance is gone, swing plane too.

It starts pointed at the plate at toe touch then rotates to about a 45 degree angle as the heel drops. Just like Jack said in a previous post. "I recommend to hitters with short soft strides that their toe lands in a more closed position. The foot then rotates to an open (45 degrees or greater) as the heel lowers. I find that the batter initiates better lead-leg action when rotating the heel as it lowers than when lowering it straight down."

I don't my feet are the problem. I think it might be my front knee turning in too much as I stride.
