Upright stance

Does an upright stance have more of an advantage to hitting the ball than a more crouched stance? Has anyone else ever noticed that almost every great hitter has more of an upright stance? Luis Gonzalez, Sexson, Chip and Andrew Jones, Tejada, Palmeiro, Manny Ramirez, Nomar, Sheffield, Jeter, ARod, Giambi, Delgado, Vern Wells (slight crouch, but still more upright), Mag Ordonez, Ivan Rodriguez, Juan Gonzalez, Vladdy, Jose Guillen, Piazza, Thome, Abreu, Griffey, Pujols, Shawn Green, Helton, Edgar Martinez, Olerud, Boone, Bonds, Ichiro, Garret Anderson, Blalock...even the legends, Ruth, Gehrig, Jackie Robinson, Teddy, Hank Aaron, Cobb, Greenberg, Ripkin (for most of his career)you get the point. I can't think of too many that were crouched. Right now all I can think of are Bagwell, Boggs, Carew, and Rickey Henderson. Sosa, Big Mac, Alomar, and Gwynn were inbetween.
So does an upright stance have the advantage-besides a bigger strikezone? Does it have more balance, more muscle quickness or something in it Or is it just the way it is with baseball?
