Re: Applying Jack's lessons: live vs. cages, nerves or adjustment?

Greetings Matt,

I'm having the same difficulty. More than pitch location, I think I'm having timing issues. A pitching machine gives no timing cues to 'sync' with, unlike a pitcher's motion. The trouble is how to get enough human pitching. One thing I did was to stand in as a dummy batter when pitchers were throwing their bullpen. I'd go through all the pre-launch stuff and abort at the swing part - this allowed me to work on the portion of the swing that is not exercised in a machine pitch cage.

Good luck!
