How old is he/what level is he playing at?

Sounds like he would benefit from LOTS of Tee work. It sounds like no one has tried to coach him. Set him up with a bucket of balls and have him hit into a backstop or screen and let him know what he's doing wrong. When his swing shows improvement, you don't have to be with him 100% of the time, but have him keep going.

Our coaches have tried just about everything we can think of, but it is not working. This kid is tall and lanky, he holds his hands up high and takes a big stride. We have been DHing for him or making him bunt because he has lost confidence in himself at the plate.
