Re: Andy Green

Today the D-Backs called up Andy Green. He was hitting .330 at "AAA" Tucson with 25 doubles. Andy posted here a few months back, and Nick posted a clip of his swing. It was picked apart, and Andy stopped posting. His swing works just fine and he has now reached the highest level that there is.

Doug,

Great to hear the news about Andy! Couldn’t happen to a nicer guy.

In the course of getting his clips together I exchanged several e-mails with him. He knew there were areas he could improve on, but he also knew his basic swing action was good and had carried him a long way already. While he was willing to tinker with his swing a little, he felt that trusting what he already had would give him the best shot of getting to the big leagues.

Here are the clips. One is a home run against South Carolina from his college days and one is in the cage last fall. He felt the swing in the fall was “rusty”, but it looked good to me.
