If you have an arm surplus store nearby (or even a Wal Mart), see if you can find a heavy canvas duffel bag. Swing by Lowes or Home Depot and pick up a few bags of playground sand. Sand in duffel. Suspend from your floor joists in your garage and PRESTO - heavy bag for hitting or punching.

You can also fill the bag with old clothes or bark. A few have emailed they put a heavy hook on a corner eave (or edge) of their roof to hang a heavy bag or tire. Good luck with it.
