tom, mb,

And what relevance that may hold - well, who knows? Regardless, I think an interesting discussion would result if we were to create two lists - one listing the similarities between the two swings and one the differences. I don't think it would be of any worth discussing the lists BEFORE they are compiled (plenty of time for that later). I think we just would get bogged in tangents to discussion. And I think we should limit the description of each item to one sentence. Anyone first, or would you like me to start? Or forget it?

Ray,
It may be possible to this but as Homer Kelley points out there are so many variables that in total you end up with 24 million possible
swing methods based on his 24 components each of which has several variables.
Perhaps it would be better to simply list Homer's imperatives and start frorm there?
The golf swing has been around since the 1400's and has been studied in far greater detail than the baseball swing.
It only makes sense to utilize that knowledge where we can in pursuit of maximum compression of the ball.

BTW Ray, Tom and the other serious baseball scientists that frequent this site it would be worth your while to purchase a copy of the Golfing Machine http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/search-handle-form/103-1908407-1692622. It is a Textbook journey into science, geometry and physics that requires study to assimilate. It took 30 years for Homer to complete the book!!!!
