Brian, review my February posts (i.e., "Fence Drill"), and you will notice that whenever I try to speak in favor of lower body Epstein "cues" on the forum, some people turn volatile. Honestly, I am losing patience with a site that claims to be open, yet is rather curt with people who voice the opinions of other hitting instructors.

Hi BHL:

If you want to discuss/analyze Epstein's ideas and Epstein does not object, then go for it. However, if you want to push his book/tapes/website, then I view that as an advertisement that should be kept on your site or Epstein's site. I doubt that Epstein would appreciate someone saying on his site, "BatSpeed.com is right on about the swing. I recommend that you immediately buy their tape." We would not want that to occur on Epstein's site either. The question is whether the post is an analysis of principles. It's a judgment call, and we will make the best decision that we can.

If you feel that a post "from the zealots" violates the posting policy, let us know by email. We will review it, and remove that post and/or the thread if we determine that a post violates the policy. Obviously, if you are going to promote further questionable theories (such as suggesting that every batter pull every pitch), then you should expect that this idea will be called into question and taken to task. It often becomes a slippery slope when someone makes a rather innocous comment about the post and/or poster, and then the response hits back a little harder and then it goes from there. So let us know if you believe that a post goes over the top and we'll look into it further and remove it if necessary.

PS. Speaking of the slippery slope, I don't think that your post meet the posting policy because it in no way shape or form analyzed batting mechanics, and is something that should have been handled by email. Do you recommend that we remove your post and the responses thereto? I think that you would agree that its a tough call sometimes, but we'll do our best to keep everyone happy, comply with the posting policy, and keep the content at a reasonably acceptable and enjoyable level for all viewers.
