> Thumb base is very low on the thumb into what you might consider outer palm - in my hand about 2 inches away from the middle of the palm. Orienting the top hand such that this thumb base curls around the handle, I find this can be a good source of primary pressure. Fingers assist and add stability.

I use/feel slightly more pressure against my thumb on take-away also. With the lose finger grip, I also finds the thumb supports the bat. Of course...all heck breaks loose once I change direction, and I'm not sure what my fingers are doing at that point. HA
