if we were to assume that even 1 % of the sons of major leaguers had/have a dream of playing mlb, and if we were to further assume that the mlb's were passing along good knowledge to their son, would not the majors today be filled with mostly sons, grandson and greatgrandsons of major league players?...sure, we have a handful (bonds, boone, a few others), but clearly there is something else at work besides what, if any knowledge that a prospective hitter gets from someone who has credentials....
