>>>Well, I did some heavy bag work tonight and it felt good. In order to avoid overstriding I tried to take my stride as I was rotating my left shoulder in. Is it ok to have completed the stride at this point? At least in the basement this sequence felt fine<<<

Hi David

It's ok to make an inward-turn during the stride. --- Next, it is important to get the contact point back where it should be. Place the bag about even with the lead knee. This will mean the lead arm has not extended at contact (still in the "L" position). Do not try to drive through the bag. All rotation and torque energies should have been expended by contact. To accomplish this, you will need to apply Top & Bottom hand torque much earlier in the swing.
