I agree with your description. Also note that as the elbow lowers, the pressure from the bat is felt in the "fingers" of the top hand - not the palm as would be if you were pushing the hand forward. Some of the better hitters not only lower the elbow, they pull back with the arm (similar to pulling on a bowstring) as the elbow lowers. -- Good observation.
