my son and daughter

Posted by: mark (ahzag1@yahoo.com) on Wed Apr 7 20:33:53 2004

while teaching my 5 yr son and 11 yr old daughter to bat i used to teach them to step but found out that my daughter while playing softball would dip as she stepped. so what i have done ismade her kept her front foot planted and lock her knee as she swings the bat in a circlur motion and twisting the hips and rear foot. this has seemed to improve her batting power and average but am i hindering her by not allowing her to step with the front foot? all her coaches seem to argue that i am even though last year during the season and in the world series she got better by not steppin with the front foot.
