Does anyone have tips on how to get an 11 year to not drop hands before swinging. He knows he is doing this and is consciousely trying to correct. It would be great to have a few drills specific to correct.

My personal opinion is that when a newcomer asks a question, someone who is QUALIFIED should give a good faith opinion. Eventually the newcomer might revisit the site , buy Jack's DVD, learn, etc. But to tell a newcomer her question is invalid is the same as telling her to go away. I don't think all questions have to pertain to top hand torque for them to be valid questions.

If someone would ask if is advisable to hold the bat with 12 inces betwwen the hands (such as TY Cobb, herad of him?), I think that would be OK to answer, "sight unseen" without asking that person to "send a clip". And besides, where is this newcomer supposed to send the clip? FYI jack does not allow posting of clips.

Aside from your response making no sense, you responded "sight unseen". But the real point is chasing away a newcomer with remarks like "too vague, send us a clip". Maybe she doesn't know she can post a clip at her personal website, maybe she doen't have the $ or the equipment. For God's sake, this was a MOM asking an innocent question about her 11-year-old, and you tell her that her question is not worth responding to! That is a sure way to chase away Jack's prospective customers.Same on you!!!

Shame on anyone who encourages this well meaning Mom to start changing things in her kid's swing based on guesses.
