If you can't keep your head still, you could be overswinging or trying to hard, the swing should be smooth and calm, but quick. Just not too jerky. As for stepping out, here's a drill. Take your stance and have someone place 2 bats or gloves one on each side of your front, about 6 inches in front of your front foot (or whatever distance you stride). Then practice your stride or swing. If you don't stride in a straight line, you'll land on one of the bats/gloves. Hope that helps. Keep doing this until it becomes habitual to stride straight, then do the drill against live pitching. Hope it helps!!!
