swing

i throw right and bat left so my power arm is the hand farther away at contact. I really struggle trying to develop a short swing because by power arm goes for the ball because my left arm is weaker. Or I will swing but only use my right arm instead of using both. Almost like Ichiro..idk bad example..Its like i can swing and let go of the bat with my bottum hand and still get the same amount of power. I am though getting power, just like half of what i am capable of. I pull the ball alot and on outside pitches i have a long swing and lousy weak hits.
I started to change my swing so my hips would explode to the ball and everything would fall into place. It kinda looks like David Ortiz's, but my bat is more flat than straight up. But when i ever i do this swing the power of the hip turn/torso turn makes my head move. So im not sure anymore..I change my swing alot because i can never get that short swing.
As the pitch comes in i swing with my arms instead of my hips..Its like the momentum of my arms turn my hips.. What should i do? --On one of my swings i tighten my right shoulder/arm to my chest to prevent it from casting out during my swing..is that bad?
