Re: A Hitting Checklist?

Dear Jack,

BHL,

My name isn't Jack but if you do not mind I would like to chime in to your GOOD question.

First of all directional alignment is a biggie IMO. Players that line their feet up in different directions add or remove pre torque in their set up and make for an inconsistent approach to hitting. When the feet go closed with the shoulders their preset X angle is gone.

Next, players that launch the bat from a different locations each swing make a strong case for getting your upper body close to the ideal launch point in the waiting period.

Lastly, if one can see that the lead elbow is equal to or behind the belly button and the head is over the belly button at toe touch then the axis is right and the shoulders are loaded. These are important points to watch to assess players skills and potential as hitters
