"Can we make sure this is available on the _public_ setpro forums tho, so non-customers can view?"

Yes, most definitely this discussion/debate would be open to all. Sadly I doubt if such a debate will ever happen, at least not with all of the participants that I would hope take part.

"Jack, Mike Epstein and Dave Hudgens have defined their thoughts and teachings on the subject of hitting for all to see. Each has two or more videos that are readily available for purchase. Many here have done so. Why don’t you show us your hitting video and then we can compare your thoughts with theirs. They have already put their stake in the ground. Where is yours? BBatter400"

BBatter400, it appears that either you have not been around the Internet "hitting wars" very long or your knowledge of hitting universe is quite small. SETPRO is probably the most quoted web site on the Internet when it comes to factual information. And possibly what you consider propaganda by SETPRO just "maybe" are attempts to present solid factual information and not attempts to promote SETPRO. The SETPRO public hitting forum set the standard for baseball instructional and training information. You should take a look at it sometime. And from an informational standpoint the SETPRO private forums far surpass anything that is available on swinging and throwing be it video, audio or written information, my not so humble opinion.

What BBatter400 needs to understand is that SETPRO is not about hitting. SETPRO is about understanding and training/instructing what needs to be done to maximize a players abilities to swing a baseball bat. Such that this ability can be used to maximize the players skill to hit a baseball. What so many of you consider "hitting instruction", especially on this web site is nothing more than attempts to quantify qualified how the body swings the baseball bat.

Recently I wrote an article on pitching that appeared in Collegiate Baseball News which asserted that there's no such thing as good pitching mechanics. Reason being because no one can agree as to what constitutes good pitching mechanics. And until you have some kind of consensus that can be no such thing as good pitching mechanics.

The exact same situation exists with respect to hitting mechanics. You should read that article when you a chance that might help you understand what these forums and discussions are really about.

As far as a video or some such, in the very near future there will be a product available similar what we are now in the process of producing to help players maximize their abilities to throw baseball.

As far as being able to determine one's thoughts from your comparing videos I doubt very much that you would get the same "perspective" by you comparing videos as compared to four "guru's" (or possibly three guru's plus one) going "at it". And besides I live for a good "debate".

There's a funny story, at least funny to me, about using videos or books to differentiate/determine a person's knowledge and ability to understand how to swing and throw.

Several years ago a well-known pitching guru maintained that anyone who had not published a book on pitching instruction was not capable of disseminating pitching information.

I still haven't published a book on pitching instruction yet that same guru is now eating (choking on) my throwing instructional dust....

By the way, its posts such as BBatter400 that led me to close the SETPRO public forums. Because as one can (hopefully) see it just takes too much time and effort and attempt to answer/deal with posts such as this in an informed manner with the general baseball public (or least what I consider an informed manner).

And even better, in a private form, I don't have to be nice like I'm being here.....

By the way, I taught Teacherman all he knows about "internet forums bedside manner".....

Enough said... ;-)
