A Compromise!

Dear Jack,

Sorry you feel that way. Listen, at this point in time, I seem to feel that unless there is a compromise, this thread will turn into a "Mike vs. Jack" debate, so something needs to be done to balm any irritation, however incidental, that might arise accidently when comparing / contrasting viewpoints. Thus, I have a solution.

I can hit a softball 320+ feet righty, and pretty far lefty as well (i.e., 290-305 feet). To be honest with you, my mechanics righty are "set," and "work" for me. However, my mechanics lefty are still in the developmental stage. I also tried you bug-squishing cues, and it seems to have no effect on my hip rotation righty, yet it works quite well lefty.

So, let's make a compact as gentleman: I will leave my right-handed mechanics to Mike, and look to you to develop my left-handed ones. That way, "everyone leaves happy."

Also, from this point on, let's engage in ways to discuss ways to accelerate my left-handed bat speed, discussing both upper and lower body mechanics from that side.

I hope this new idea--"splitting the difference"--is feasible to you.

Sincerely,
BHL
