Tom,

I don't see any seperation. I see hips opening and top hand working and then the shoulders. But the sequence is a smooth quickness (unwinding). I don't think seperation really happens unless you are fooled or making an adjustment.

The x-factor might be just unwinding properly and a natural part of the baseball swing.
