There is still a degree of "push to extension" going on late in the swing. However, I am quite confident that based on the swings I see, you are most definitly on the right track. My advice would be to keep the hands back even more and work on rotating through the ball and not just to it. Tell yourself in practice drills that you're going to rotate past the ball and don't stop at contact. I would also have you quite your legs a bit, but that's just my personal preference.....not a critque on your style. I feel there is no significant gain in moving to the ball with the legs or body...just let the ball get in the way of the swing.

the cacther is fine..no harm done. by the way i drilled him a couple of times more in that game..he, he.


coach, i like the praise, specially, because these are earlier swings with a lot of linear components, like you well said"pushing through the ball". i am now in the process of sitting to hit with a more rotational approach. all the cues work for me. the cue i use now is "rotate the front knee, and let the body swing". it works great. bat almost fly out of my hands. it feels great and very, very rotational. it is almost like "spinning" a la jeter.
i bend my front knee now. in the clip i dont. it is more of a linear stride.

another thing i do is i sort of "straithen the lead arm" and "rotate". not "lock" but straight. i go much more back in prelaunch and let my body innitiate. i am incorporating the scapula load ect. however i am sitting out and only lifting at the moment. i almost busted a knee in the gym plus my date dropped a bowling ball on my big toe. so i am pretty limpy now. no rest.
