Fairly good analogy of the comparisons. A couple other points over a beer.
1. Since the focal point behind a softball pitchers hip is only about 20ft behind the ball it makes it easier to pick up the spin and trajectory of the ball as compared to the focal point of at least 400ft behind a baseball pitchers hand. In baseball not until the ball has traveled at least 20 ft does the focul point reduce to the saem distance as softball.
2. The ball release point is from the hip in softball but may very greatly even with a single pitcher in baseball.
I agree with you that rotational mechanics is the way to go in fastpitch. I teach it and have used it in both sports and I know it works.
