I find the body wants to perform certain motions together.In good hitters,the stride foot lifts as the hip cocks and as the back arm internally rotates("hitch hands") and front knee turns in(internally rotates).More stride foot lift will tend to encourage more hip cock.Still,a lot has to go right after this to result in more power.In addition to more pronounced hip cock,you must be sequencing loading and unloading better.This is pure speculation in the absence of observation.
