top hand on middle/ out pitches

Posted by: toti () on Mon Dec 29 00:22:31 2003

hey rich, merry christmas to you too.

i just read your post. i was on holiday.

listen, i see guys like derek jeter, a great rotational, almost spinning hitter, and i see a great top hand dominance throughtoout the swing, it is almost as if he was batting only with right hand. when i was linear, i almost batted with my left hand, the right hand was there for the ride(RHHITTER). ever since we talked i have been practicing with my wiffles with THT. I have tried to get my top hand involved somehow even on inside pitches. i have been taking 150 swings perday average. i think top hand dominance is good on middle/out. also i think the top hand first move down towards catcher prevents the linear hand path that was killing my swing from the outset. i get more slack in the hands this way, i mean, they stay back longer.

i hope i answered the question.

have a nice new year´s eve.

Hey Toti,
> Earlier you mentioned the principle of top hand dominance. can you describe what that is...
