>>> Happy New Year! so you think slight elbow movement on the inside pitch is OK. if you stay tight is it a foul ball? please explain perpendicular bat to the line of flight of the ball on the inside pitch. it seems that would preclude the BHT, similar to the outside pitch??? When is the "Final Arc Advanced Drills" tape coming out? in 2004 perhaps... all the best, Rich <<<

Hi Rich

Wishing you God Speed for a great 2004. – As the poster above suggests, I may not have worded that paragraph with clarity. I stated “For 'pulled balls', the back-arm will normally need to extend further and back-elbow moves further out of the slot and "L" position. – It should have read, “For 'pulled balls', the back-arm ‘may’ need to extend out further and therefore the back-elbow moves forward in the slot (past the "L" position). – I said ‘may’ because some of the better hitters pull the ball with more shoulder rotation while keeping the “L” position in the arm (more powerful).

Bat perpendicular to the line of flight of the ball at contact will hit the ball straightaway. The more the bat rotates past perpendicular, the more the batter pulls the ball. – We added the Advanced Drills to the Swing Review tape -- no plans at this time for another instructional video.
