Albert Pujols

From my observation Albert Pujols is not hitting like other hitters. He cuts the ball somewhat like Mike Schmidt. This would explain why most of his homeruns are line drive homeruns without loft. It should be noted that pujols batspeed was measured around 85 miles per hour. Griffey and Bonds were in the 95 range and McGwire at 100.
Cutting the ball is much like what we see in some of the superlevel slowpitch softball hitters, some of which preach bat lag with a wrist snap. This translates to late batspeed with a powerful finish with an emphasis on the hips to generate rotational force in hitting through the ball.
