Wrist roll & top hand palm

What should the top hand palm orientation be at contact? Should the palm be up or should it be toward the pitcher. All reading material I have come across says a palm up results in a pop up & is a generally weaker position for the wrist to be in at contact. If a "palm facing" approach is used, what about wrist roll?
