connection

Hi

What we are seeing here is called connection by some. That is gonzo stays connect while our pro hitter “disconnects” hands from body, giving the swing a linear aspect.

I have tried this with my wiffles and it really makes a difference. Turnning your body to the inside ball and hitting it nearer you are able to hit it harder and deeper. However when we disconect our hands from the rotation, we are not able to “sting” the ball. That´s the difference between us “the waannabes” and the pros. That is, stay connected throught out.

By staying connected we achive two things: we buy precious time for pitch location recognition because the ball is hit nearer to the body not out in fron. Number two we can sting the ball and put the meat on it.

Thanks, this has been a very, very illuminating thread. I have discovered a lot of new things to incorporate.

God bless

toti

If you watch Bonds his hands remain still and he creates a larger 'torso coil' then both of these hitters. When the knee drives forward you can counter balance the weight shift by leaving your hands back and initiating THT.This creates the xfactor that increases bat head speed.
